Health Policy

South Africa is in the process of introduing health system reforms. These reforms will impact the public and private sector. We have included some references to the reforms, past present and future. The government has a responsibility to ensure the progressive realisation of rights to healthcare enshrined in the Bill of Rights. In light of the fact that the current government inherited a health system that had geographic, racial and economic inequalities, the introduction of reforms that will achieve the goal of health for all pose several challenges.
