Convened by The Institute of Health Risk Managers

Date: 5 May
Who should attend: If you work in the public or private sectors of the healthcare industry, or are an employer and need a better understanding of the impact of the burden of disease, this workshop has been designed with you in mind.
Disease is a burden on the nation’s bottom line that we can’t afford.
We need to look at its impact on our healthcare system, together with funders of healthcare, employers and the State, and find ways to minimise this impact. We also need to assess the burden it places on South Africans and their ability to be productive.
This Workshop will provide you with an opportunity to be informed and get involved in finding solutions to this massive challenge by being actively involved in workshops under the guidance of experts in the respective fields. The solution lies in all of us working collaboratively to tackle the issues to everyone’s benefit, namely patient, funder, provider and employer.
In 2010 the conference will be focusing on the impact of the burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, with local experts presenting on their area of expertise. It will consider the impact of the burden of disease on productivity, patients, the healthcare delivery system, funders, providers and employers.
